EMT Practical Testing Changes!

Psychomotor Evaluation Team

We would like to invite you to be part of these changes.   If you are not aware of the changes that are coming down the road here is what is one of the things that is happening, the practical performance evaluation for one part of the certification process is now back at the classroom setting or is presented at the class by class level.  This is as it used to be, before the state took over the practical examination to provide a consistent procedure.  We are venturing into the world of practical performance evaluation at the EMT level.   We have been gearing up in anticipation of these changes for the past ten months.   Starting in January 2010 we will be offering the first of these Practical Examinations.

We are offering the course completion examination at the EMT level for thirty-five dollars ($35.00) a student for all six (6) stations and at twenty dollars ($20.00) a student per retake for up to three stations.

The plan is to offer the certification level Practical Examination 3 to 5 times a month after the opening exam offered in January.   The Examiner will be treated as subcontractors at the rate of $20.00 an hour with the minimum three hours per examination event.  The plan is for Examiner to received compensation the day of the examination.

To qualify to be an EMS: Ed/Sem Examiner you must have:

1.  At least 5 year experience as an EMT.

2.  Taken an approved Examiner Workshop.  (We are making arrangements to present this workshop at a nominal fee.   This fee will be reimbursed to those that join our team after three exams.

3.  Completed the probationary period required, (two supervised Exam presentation).
