Raphael M. Barishansky, MPH, EMT

Mr. Barishansky is the Executive Director of the Hudson Valley Regional EMS Council based in Newburgh, New York. And holds a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology as well as a Master's Degree in Public Health (Health Care Policy and Management.

 

Mr. Barishansky serves as a site reviewer for the Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services (CAAS) and has served as a reviewer for the Continuing Education Coordinating Board for Emergency Medical Services (CECBEMS).  He also serves on the editorial advisory board for Emergency Medical Services Magazine and as a peer reviewer for Prehospital Emergency Care (PEC) and has served on the EMS Advisory Board for the Fire and Emergency Television Network (FETN).   A member of the National Association of Emergency Medical Technician’s (NAEMT) Administrator Division, he also sits on the Board of Directors for the National EMS Management Association (NEMSMA).   In 2005, Mr. Barishansky was awarded the Anthony S. Maniscalco Memorial Scholarship from NAEMT for outstanding public service and he attended the program for Senior Executives in State and Local Government at Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government in 2006 in a fellowship provided by the same organization.

Mr. Barishansky has written extensively on various facets of EMS including leadership profiles, administrative/management strategies and clinical aspects.  His articles have been featured in EMS Magazine, the Journal of Emergency Medical Services (JEMS), the EMS Insider, EMS Manager and Supervisor as well as other publications. 

 

David Bondanza, EMT-I, JD, Esq.

Attorney Bondanza practices law in the area of civil litigation, he handles both the prosecution and defense of various matters.

Mr. Bondanza received his Juris Doctor Degree Cum Laude from the Quinnipiac University School of Law.  Additionally, Mr. Bondanza also holds a bachelor's degree in Engineering, is a certified Six Sigma Green Belt and is licensed by the FCC.    Mr. Bondanza is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association, and the American Bar Association.  Mr. Bondanza is also an Engineer with an extensive background in Television and Radio Engineering.

For over 20 years, Mr. Bondanza has been a Firefighter and EMT in three volunteer fire departments along with employment with a commercial service in New York.  Mr. Bondanza is certified as a Firefighter II, EMT-Intermediate, Safety Officer, Fire Services Instructor, and OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Instructor.  Mr. Bondanza is a Past Volunteer Fire and EMS Service Chief and has held every rank within the scope of volunteer emergency services.  In his other interests, Mr. Bondanza is a licensed private pilot, and is an avid amateur photographer

Sara Locke is the parent of a young child with an autism spectrum disorder, a child with learning and medical disorders and a daughter. She is also a certified special education teacher with experience in the middle school and preschool populations. She has served as an educational advocate for families and children affected by autism spectrum disorders. Most recently, Sara has worked with the Autism Spectrum Resource Center to provide autism safety and risk management training to the New Haven Police Department, members of the Crisis Intervention Teams in CT, forensic evaluators, social workers and bail commissioners within the criminal justice system, emergency medical professionals, and to the school resource and security officers of New Haven public schools.

Mr. Navarro serves as the Continuing Education Coordinator in the Emergency Medicine Education Department at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas.  He provides CE and assists in medical oversight for the BioTel system, a multi-jurisdictional EMS system composed of 13 fire/rescue agencies and more than 1,200 paramedics.  Mr. Navarro also serves on two education subcommittees for NIH-funded research projects and as the coordinator for the National Education Standards Project funded by NHTSA.

Robert has been involved in all levels of EMS for 17 years working with both rural and urban services.  After completing his degree in Emergency Medical Care he joined the EMS faculty at Gaston College while continuing to work in the field.  Robert is active in the publication of EMS textbooks and has contributed to and reviewed numerous publications for all levels of provider.  He is currently a member of the Paramedic Education Program faculty at HealthONE EMS in Englewood, CO.

Patrick is a Physician Assistant with 5 years experience working in Trauma Surgery. He is currently working on the Trauma Service at St. Francis Hospital & Medical Center, Hartford, CT. Prior to becoming a Physician Assistant, he worked as a Certified Athletic Trainer for 12 years after receiving his Bachelors’ and Masters’ Degrees in Sportsmedicine. He continues to have a special interest in the evaluation and treatment of Sports related injuries.

I am a reserve officer in the US Army and have over 21 years of experience since enlisting in 1986. Since August 2001, I have served at MacDIll AFB with US Central Command and Special Operations Command, Central, primarily on active duty. I deployed to the CENTCOM Area of Responsibility four times (primarily to Iraq and Qatar) and served as the US liaison to the Australian National Headquarters, Middle East Area of Operations during the first six months of Operation Iraqi Freedom. 

As a civilian, I work for Saint Lucie County, Florida as a software analyst and database programmer. I am currently enrolled in the University of Connecticut Homeland Security Leadership program, and anticipate graduating in August 2008, barring further operational deployments.

Leadership strengths include multitasking and team coordination, timeline management, project leadership organization, educational presenter, and quality workmanship.

Dr. Marshall is a Trauma Surgeon with extensive experience with penetrating trauma.  He is currently the Interim Director of Trauma at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center located in Hartford, CT where the presenting trauma population has a high incidence of penetrating injuries.  Dr. Marshall was a Trauma Fellow at Hartford Hospital and completed specialized surgical training in trauma/critical care at Lincoln Medical Center in Bronx, New York.
